Markets snap 4-day winning streak, sensex tanks 984 points; Nifty ends below 14,650

Equity indices snapped four straight sessions of gains on Friday as losses in banking stocks weighed on the indexes. The benchmark BSE sensex plunged 984 points or 1.98 per cent to close at 48,782; while the broader NSE Nifty moved 264 points or 1.77 per cent lower to settle at 14,631.

Bollywood actor Dia Mirzam, who is a model-turned-actor, made her debut in the films with the 2001 film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein starring alongside R Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan. She witnessed major ups and downs in her career. In her latest interview, she opened up about her early days in the film industry, rampant sexism, and how things have changed over the years. Speaking to Brut India, Dia Mirza said, “People were writing, thinking and making sexist cinema, and I was a part of these stories.
