Karisma Kapoor goes back to the 90s; recreates the popular Nirma ad

Actor Karisma Kapoor recently recreated the popular Nirma ad from the 90s, taking fans on a nostalgia trip. The ad, made for credit card management platform Cred, recreates the famous detergent ad from the 90s.

While Karisma replicated the mannerism of the original ads, the lines are tweaked to highlight the advantages of using CRED. The video starts with Karisma walking into a store in a white saree where the shopkeeper greets her and hands over her stuff. She then asks for the charger kept on the shelf behind the shopkeeper.

Amazed at Karisma's request, he says, "Aap toh hamesha regular charger lete the (You used to always buy the regular charger)". Responding to him, Karishma says "Leti thi (used to take)". She reveals that she changed her mind after Cred Bounty started offering iPhones.


The original ad which was first aired in 1989 featured actor Dipika Chikhlia. Dipika is best known for playing Sita in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan. The ad is known for its punchline- 'Maan gaye aapki paarkhi nazar'.
