GST support's extension still elusive

Ahead of the end of the five-year compensation period to cover "losses" of states, a clarity on whether it would be extended beyond Thursday remained elusive, although several states raised the demand at the GST Council. "If there was a solution, I would have told you," finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said when asked about an extension.

Bollywood actor Dia Mirzam, who is a model-turned-actor, made her debut in the films with the 2001 film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein starring alongside R Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan. She witnessed major ups and downs in her career. In her latest interview, she opened up about her early days in the film industry, rampant sexism, and how things have changed over the years. Speaking to Brut India, Dia Mirza said, “People were writing, thinking and making sexist cinema, and I was a part of these stories.
