Diwali 2022: Brahmastra Part One: Shiva to Ammu; here’s a list of films releasing on OTT platforms this festive season

In recent years, OTT platforms have made sure that moviegoers have something new to watch every weekend. Thus, we have made a list of films that will be your go-to throughout this Diwali season as the forthcoming festive season promises plenty of time to catch up with the most recent releases. From Brahmastra to Liger, these movies are making an OTT debut this Diwali.

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva

The Ayan Mukerji-directed fantasy is scheduled to premiere this upcoming Diwali weekend on Disney+ Hotstar. It would be intriguing to see the blockbuster run on a digital platform after performing extremely well at theatres all around the world. 

Liger

The movie follows Liger, a successful MMA fighter who started out as a street fighter with speech impediments. Vijay Deverakonda, Ananya Pandey, Ramya Krishnan, Makarand Deshpande, and Ronit Roy play pivotal parts in the Puri Jagannadh-directed film. The film is available from October 21, Liger will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on Disney+ Hotstar. 

Bimbisara 

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram plays a double role as King Bimbisara and Devadutta in the historical drama. Meanwhile,  Mallidi Vassishta, Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon, Prakash Raj, and Vivan Bhatena all play significant roles in the Mallidi Vassishta-directed movie. Zee5 started airing Bimbisara in Telugu on October 21.

Ammu

Aishwarya Lekshmi plays a housewife in Ammu who will do whatever it takes to keep her violent husband employed as a police inspector. The key roles in the movie are also played by Bobby Simha and Naveen Chandra. The film became available on Amazon Prime Video from October 19 onwards.
