2022 saw record checks by DGCA on airlines, airports

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) says it has made the highest number of surveillance checks in a calendar year in 2022. Numbering at 4,378 checks in all, 3,013 were planned while 1,365 were unplanned. These include safety audits, ramp inspections, spot checks, and night surveillance on airlines, till Thursday (December 22), apart from airport operators, approved organisations, and flying training schools to check whether they are following safety standards.
