Forced to destroy! US rejects 15 mango shipments from India, exporters estimate losses of $500,000

US authorities have rejected fifteen mango shipments from India at various airports due to documentation irregularities concerning mandatory irradiation treatment. Exporters face approximately $500,000 in losses as they were compelled to dispose of the fruit locally due to high re-exportation costs.
